Fans are criticizing Millie Bobby Brown for getting engaged to Jake Bongiovi at such a young age.
After 2 years of relationships, the “Stranger Things” actress, 19, revealed on Instagram on Tuesday that Bongiovi, 20, had proposed. However, many of her nearly 63 million followers weren’t very happy with the news.
“What? She’s eleven,” a witty commenter on Brown’s post joked, referencing the name of the Netflix series in which she stars.
Son of musician Jon Bon Jovi, Bongiovi posted a photo of the two during their seaside embrace taken from a different perspective. A photo of the couple gazing affectionately at one another on a boat was also included in his post. He captioned his photo, “Forever.”
On Instagram, Jon Bon Jovi’s son also announced the couple’s engagement by uploading a picture of his proposal along with the word “Forever.”
The “all-around cool guy” appeared to have more support from his fans than his future wife had, as his post was inundated with congratulations. When Brown and Bongiovi posted a photo together on Instagram in June 2021, romance speculations initially started to circulate. The words “bff” and an emoji heart were used as the description for the photo by Bongiovi.
In November of that year, the couple made their relationship on the Instagram official. On November 1, 2021, Brown shared a kiss with Bongiovi in a shot she uploaded to Instagram while riding the London Eye.
Brown gained popularity for her lead role as the telekinetic Eleven in “Stranger Things,” which, based on Netflix, will come to an end with Season 5.
Since her “Stranger Things” first appearance, Millie Bobby Brown has appeared in “Enola Holmes” and “Enola Holmes 2” with Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes’ sister and created her own cosmetics brand.
