National Weather Service forecasters expect a slow-moving storm system to bring heavy rainfall throughout the day in Dallas-Fort Worth and could bring flooding or flash flooding in urban areas

From tonight through Saturday afternoon, there is now an official flood warning in effect, due to minor flooding forecast.

At 1:00 PM CDT Thursday afternoon the river stage stood at 26.4 feet; flood stage is 33.00 feet;

Forecast indicates it may surpass flood stage shortly after midnight with an anticipated rise above flood stage to an anticipated 34.8 foot crest early Friday.

Tomorrow afternoon and early Saturday morning it should recede below flood stage and have subsided to below it again.
