Common uses

Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate business days?
Count every weekday (Monday to Friday) between the two dates and subtract public holidays that fall on weekdays. The calculator above does this instantly and lists the holidays it removed.
Does the calculator include the start and end date?
By default the start date counts and the end date doesn't, like most contract and shipping calculations. Tick "Include end date" to count both.
How many working days are there in 2026?
There are 261 weekdays in 2026, and 250 business days after removing the 11 US federal holidays.
What's the difference between business days and working days?
They usually mean the same thing: days when most businesses are open, normally Monday to Friday excluding public holidays. Banks follow the Federal Reserve holiday schedule, which closely matches federal holidays.
Can I use a Friday–Saturday weekend?
Yes. Choose the weekend pattern, for example Friday–Saturday as used in many Middle Eastern countries, and the calculator counts the other days as working days.
How do I add business days to a date?
Use the "Add business days" section. Enter a start date and the number of business days, and the calculator skips weekends and US federal holidays to give the end date.
